Round Hill Roastery – Roaster Profile
Round Hill Roastery – Roaster Profile
We’ve known Eddie Twitchett, founder of Roud Hill Roastery, since he set up the business in 2012, and then, as now, he was roasting amazing single origin coffees. Like many people in the specialty coffee industry in the south west of England, Eddie was greatly influenced by seminal Bath coffee shop, Colonna and Smalls, and it was a testament to the quality of Round Hill’s coffee from the beginning that they were a regular feature on Colonna’s rotating menu of world class coffees.
Since those days, Round Hill has expanded, moved to bigger premises and has grown significantly in output and the number of employees. It hasn’t lost its focus on great coffees, though – there are no blends here, no fillers and the roast profiles for filter and espresso (identified by blue and pink bags, respectively) are spot on.
One particularly great thing about Round Hill Roastery is accessibility. These are specialty grade coffees, roasted to perfection, yet they come with very reasonable price tags. Thus, they offer something for those who want an entry point to specialty coffee, but are still immensely pleasing to coffee afficionados.
